Your Questions, Answered-
We will use paper sign-in/out sheets and/or Brightwheel for our daily attendance records. All persons dropping off/picking up a child will be required to “sign in/out” with their name and time of arrival/departure. Only an authorized parent/guardian or an individual who is on the pickup permission slip may pick up children. Individuals may be asked to show picture identification if the staff member has never met them. On preschool days, there will be NO drop offs/pickup between 8:30-11:30am, unless prior approval is given. No child will be released to a child that is suspected to be impaired or intoxicated. If a person that is suspected to be impaired/intoxicated leaves with a child we will notify the authorities immediately. If a court order exists preventing a particular individual from having contact with a child, the center shall comply with the order. The center must be provided a copy of the court order on file.

All full day children must be picked up no later than 5:30 pm. All ½ day children must be picked up by 11:30am. Please make the staff aware asap if you will be late. To avoid situations like these, we encourage parents to have a backup plan.
The following procedure will be used for parents who violate the pick-up policy.
• First Offense – Verbal Warning (if parent fails to let staff know they’re running late and/or is more than 10 min late “Second Offense” rules will be implemented)
• Second Offense – $15/1-15 mins (additional $15/1-15 mins)
• Third Offense- Grounds for dismissal from the program.
Late charges are due no later than the end of the next billing cycle. Non-payment of late charges may result in suspension of the child/children from the program. We ask parents to be respectful and courteous regarding this policy.
If staff are not notified a parent will be late, the staff will call all contact numbers including parents, guardians and authorized emergency contacts. If contact is unsuccessful, the administrator will contact the appropriate community authorities.

At Westminster we stock only first aid medical supplies. If your child becomes ill while under our care, we will separate the child from the group and contact the parent/guardian or those on the emergency contact list to pick up the child within the hour. If a situation is judged to be a medical emergency, 911 will be called and/or your child will be transported to the nearest hospital. If a child is sent home from school, they cannot return until all relevant symptoms (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) have subsided for 24 hours without the use of medication (such as Tylenol, Motrin, Pepto…etc). If the child is given a prescription for antibiotics for strep throat, pink eye, etc., the child will need to be on the antibiotic 24 hours before returning to school.
Please keep sick children home if:
• a fever (100.5 degrees or higher)
• diarrhea (more than 2 loose bowel movements)
• vomiting
• skin conditions such as poison ivy, ringworm, unexplained rash, etc.
